Established in 2002, Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park stands as Nepal's ninth national park. Nestled in the mid-hills on the northern outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley, the park derives its name from the majestic Shivapuri Peak, reaching an altitude of 2,732 meters (8,963 feet). As the closest national park to the capital city, Shivapuri National Park offers a unique tour experience, providing breathtaking mountain vistas and glimpses of untamed wildlife. This excursion presents an opportunity to spot an array of bird species, including eight types of storks, egrets, woodpeckers, black-headed shrikes, six pheasant species, 17 cuckoo species, and three crow species. The prime period for this bird-watching adventure is March to December.

After a delicious breakfast, we'll drive to Phulchowki, the tallest hill in Kathmandu at 2500 m. Spend a full day exploring the upper section for a variety of birds, including Black Eagle, Yuhinas, Robins, and many more. The surrounding rice fields, tiny villages, and small forest patches offer sightings of various birdlife. After an enriching day, we'll return to our hotel for a peaceful overnight stay.
On this day, immerse yourself in the enchanting world of colorful birds in the natural havens of Nagarjun and Shivapuri. Shivapuri National Park, a former Royal Family hunting reserve, boasts potential sightings of newer species. Endangered species like the Spiny Babbler, unique to Nepal, can be found here. The evening will be highlighted by a Farewell Dinner at a Nepali Restaurant, ensuring a delightful end to the day.
